This is an early public demo of RAVAGE.

RAVAGE is currently in active development. This demo showcases the core gameplay and is intended to gather feedback from players while the game continues to grow.

The full version is planned to include a complete Story Mode, unique boss encounters, additional enemies, weapons, upgrades, environments, and many more features.

About the Game

A mysterious fungal organism has breached containment deep beneath an underground ant colony.

The infection spreads rapidly, twisting insects into relentless hosts and turning the once-thriving nest into a living nightmare.

You are a soldier ant, one of the colony's last defenders. Descend into the depths, fight through endless swarms of infected creatures, strengthen your build with powerful upgrades, and survive long enough to uncover the truth hidden beneath the colony.

Every run is different. Every mistake is permanent. Every descent goes deeper.

Development

RAVAGE began as a small experimental prototype inspired by the original Rogue, reimagined with zombie insects and a fungal outbreak.

After exploring the concept, the project was rebuilt from the ground up in Python using Pygame, gradually evolving into its own original experience.

The game's biggest inspirations include:

  • Rogue — ASCII aesthetics and the foundations of the roguelike genre.
  • The Binding of Isaac — replayability, progression, and run variety.
  • Doom — fast, aggressive combat and relentless action.
